19th Association of Medical Biochemists of India Conference (AMBICON) 2011
My maiden poster presentation experience at AMBICON 2011 held at KAPV Govt. Medical College, Trichy, India. It was a medical conference for PostGraduate Biochemistry students and my participation as an undergraduate (2nd year student) gave me a good experience by watching fellow presenters. I was appreciated for my participation in a PostGraduate Conference and also received a lot of valuable suggestions which improved my future presentations in International Conferences. Loved the experience.

EUREKA - Rare Case Presentation Competition in Stanley Medical College
EUREKA, a part of the EMPOWER Medical Student Conference gives an opportunity for medical students to present unusual cases from various fields. During the 2013 edition, I presented a case of Churg Strauss Syndrome (now known as Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis) in the general medicine section and won the first place. I was awarded cash prize and also a free subscription in BMJ case reports (British Medical Journal) for publication of my case report.

I have always loved the thrill of solving a medically challenging case in the clinico-pathological case discussion forums. The competitors are given an elaborate case on the spot of the event and allowed half an hour time for preparation followed by detailed presentation of the case, discussing the possible differential diagnosis and substantiating the diagnosis based on the given findings.
EMPOWER and CHARM are famous medical student conferences conducted by Stanley Medical College and Chengelpet Medical College, Tamilnadu respectively, and their clinico-pathological case discussions are considered to be the best in the country.
I participated in the conference all throughout my med school years, however won first place in Clinico-Pathological Case Presentation during my 4th year and internship.
It was enlightening in various aspects and I was able to improve my clinical case presentation skills in a very short time.
