GOLD MEDAL : Every year there is an intra-college competition on the each of the respective subjects of the year . It is focussed on testing the candidate on a higher difficulty level and analyzing their strength in the subject. Most of the departments conduct this special exam in two or three stages. The first stage is usually a written one (MCQ based/ essay based). The second stage is viva, wherein the candidate is quizzed by a panel of internal and external (professors from other college) examiners. The third stage is clinical case presentation followed by question session. Though it appears drilling, it is always very rewarding. Candidates learn a lot from the examinations even if they dont win the medal.  I have secured GOLD Medals in Bio-chemistry, Pathology and Surgery. A first certificate is usually given for the the runner-up. I have secured first certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology.
